செந்தூர் மாசித்திருவிழா 


முருகப்பெருமான், சிவபெருமானின் அம்சமாக அவதரித்தவர். ஓம் எனும் பிரணவ மந்திரத்தின் பொருளை தந்தைக்கே குருவாக இருந்து உபதேசித்தவர். அம்மந்திரத்தின் பொருள் தெரியாத பிரம்மாவை, சிறையில் அடைத்தவர். மாமனான மகாவிஷ்ணுவின் பாசத்திற்கு கட்டுப்பட்டவர். இவ்வாறு மும்மூர்த்திகளோடும் தொடர்புடையவர் முருகப்பெருமான்.
இதை வெளிப்படுத்தவே, முருகன் கோவில்களில் மாசித் திருவிழா கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. மேலும், மாசிக்கும், முருகனுக்கும் மற்றொரு தொடர்பும் உண்டு. இம்மாதத்தின் பூசம் நட்சத்திரத்தில் தான், வள்ளியை மணந்து கொண்டார் முருகன்.
மாசித் திருவிழாவுக்கு மிக மிக முக்கியத்துவம் வாய்ந்த தலம், திருச்செந்தூர். இத்திருவிழாவின்போது, சிவன், விஷ்ணு, பிரம்மா என மும்மூர்த்திகளின் அம்சமாக முருகன் காட்சி தருவார். விழாவின், 7ம் நாளன்று மாலையில், சிவப்பு நிற வஸ்திரம் அணிந்து, சிவபெருமானாக காட்சி தருகிறார். மறுநாள் (8ம்நாள்) அதிகாலை, வெண்ணிற ஆடையில் பிரம்மாவின் அம்சமாகவும், மதியம், பச்சை வஸ்திரத்தில் பெருமாள் அம்சத்தில் பவனி வருவார். எல்லா தெய்வங்களின் அம்சமாகவும் விளங்குவதால், மாசி மாதத்தில் முருகனை வழிபட, கடலலை போல் பக்தர்கள் திருச்செந்தூரில் கூடுகின்றனர்.
திருச்செந்தூரில் முருகன் சன்னிதியின் மேற்கு திசையில் ராஜகோபுரம் இருக்கிறது. முருகப்பெருமானோ கடலை பார்த்தபடி, கிழக்கு நோக்கி காட்சி அளிக்கிறார். பிரதான கோபுரம் சுவாமிக்கு கிழக்கு திசையில்தான் அமைந்திருக்க வேண்டும். ஆனால், அப்பகுதியில் கடல் இருப்பதால், கடல் அரிப்பைத் தவிர்க்க, மேற்கில் கோபுரம் கட்டப்பட்டிருக்க வேண்டும் என்கின்றனர் ஆய்வாளர்கள். அதே நேரம், கோபுரவாசல் மூடப்பட்டு உள்ளதால், மூலஸ்தான பீடத்தைவிட, கோபுர வாசல் உயரமாக இருப்பதால், அடைக்கப்பட்டதாகவும் தகவல் உண்டு.
பொதுவாக கோவில்களில், ஒரு தெய்வத்துக்கு, ஒரு உற்சவர் சிலை மட்டுமே இருக்கும். ஆனால், திருச்செந்தூரில் சண்முகர், ஜெயந்திநாதர், குமரவிடங்கர், அலைவா பெருமாள் என, முருகனின் நான்கு உற்சவர்கள் இருக்கின்றனர். இவர்களுக்கு தனி சன்னிதிகள் உள்ளன. இவர்களில் குமரவிடங்கரை, 'மாப்பிள்ளை சுவாமி' என்கின்றனர். தங்கள் ஊருக்கு வந்து தெய்வானையை மணப்பெண்ணாக அடைந்த தால், செந்தூர் மக்கள் இவரை, மாப்பிள்ளையாக ஏற்றுக் கொண்டுள்ளனர்.
மூலவர் சுப்பிரமணியர் சன்னிதிக்குள்ளும் ஒரு விசேஷம் உண்டு. மூலவருக்கு இடது பின்புற சுவரில் ஒரு லிங்கம் உள்ளது. முதல் தீபாராதனை இவருக்கு காட்டிய பின்பே, முருகனுக்கு தீபாராதனை நடக்கும். சண்முகர் சன்னிதியிலும் சுவாமிக்கு பின்புறம் லிங்கம் இருக்கிறது. இவ்விரு லிங்கங்களும் இருளில் உள்ளதால், தீபாராதனை ஒளியில் மட்டுமே பார்க்க முடியும். 
இதுதவிர மூலஸ்தானத்தின் வலப்புறத்தில், பஞ்சலிங்க சன்னிதி இருக்கிறது. முருகன் இந்த லிங்கங்களுக்கு பூஜை செய்வதாக ஐதீகம்.
திருச்செந்தூர் மாசித் திருவிழாவிற்கு செல்பவர்கள், இந்த அற்புதங்களையும் கண்டு வாருங்கள். மனநிறைவான பயணமாக இருக்கும்.

ஆரோக்கிய நீரோட்டம்! -

மாசி மகம் அன்று, கடலாடும் வைபவம் மிக விசேஷம். மடலார்ந்த தெங்கின் மயிலையார் மாசிக் கடலாட்டு கண்டான் கபாலிச்சரம் அமர்ந்தான்... என, மாசி மகத்தன்று கடலாடுவதின் சிறப்பு குறித்து பாடுகிறார் திருஞான சம்பந்தர்.
ஒரு முறை, இரண்யவர்மன் என்ற மன்னன், மாசி மகக் கடலாடுவதின் சிறப்பு குறித்து, வியாக்ரபாத முனிவரிடம் கேட்டான். மனித ஜீவன்களின் பாவக் கட்டுகளை அழிக்கவல்லது என்று கூறி, அதன் சிறப்பு குறித்து, அவனுக்கு விளக்கினார் வியாக்ரபாத முனிவர். அது...
வரம் பல பெற்ற, கொடூர குணம் கொண்ட மன்னன் ஒருவனை வெல்வதற்கான வழியைப் பற்றி ஆலோசிப்பதற்காக, வருண பகவானைத் தேடி, அவனின் குரு போனார்.
இருள் சூழ்ந்த நேரம் அது!
'யாரோ பகைவன் தான் வருகிறான்...' என, தவறாக நினைத்த வருணன், தன் பாசத்தை அவர் மேல் வீச, குரு இறந்தார்.
குருவைக் கொன்ற பாவம், ஒரு பிசாசாகத் தோன்றி, வருணனின் கை, கால்களை கழுத்தோடு சேர்த்துக் கட்டி, கடலில் தள்ளியது.
வருணன் அங்கேயே கிடந்து, நீண்ட காலமாகத் துன்பத்தை அனுபவித்தார்.
இதனால், தேவர்கள், சிவபெருமானை வணங்கி, 'இறைவா... வருணனின் துயரத்தை நீக்கி அருள் செய்யுங்கள்...' என வேண்டினர்.
சிவபெருமானும் அவர்கள் வேண்டுகோளுக்கு இரங்கி, வருண பகவானின் கட்டுகளையெல்லாம் அறுத்து, அவருக்கு விடுதலை அளித்தார்.
விடுதலை பெற்ற வருண பகவான், கடலிலிருந்து வெளிப்பட்டு, சிவபெருமானை வணங்கி, 'கண்ணுதல் கடவுளே... தாங்கள் எழுந்தருளி அடியேனுக்கு விடுதலை அளித்த இந்த மாசி மக திருநாளில், இத்துறையில் (கடலில்) நீராடியவர்களின் துயரக் கட்டுகளையெல்லாம் நீக்கி, அவர்களுக்கு முக்தி அளிக்க வேண்டும். மேலும், பரம் பொருளான தாங்களும், மாசி மக நன்னாளில், இத்துறையில் (கடலுக்கு) எழுந்தருள வேண்டும்...' என வேண்டி, வரம் பெற்றார் என, மாசி மக கடலாடுவதின் சிறப்பு குறித்து, வியாக்ரபாதர் சொல்லி முடிக்கவும், இரண்யவர்மன் மகிழ்ச்சியோடு, சிதம்பரத்தில் கோவில் கொண்டிருக்கும் சிவபெருமானுக்கு கொடியேற்றினார்.
கடலுக்குச் செல்லும் வழி அலங்கரிக்கப்பட்டது; சிவபெருமான் கடலுக்குள் எழுந்தருளினார். வருண பகவான் எதிர் வந்து நமஸ்கரித்தார்.
வருணனின் பாசத்தை நீக்கி அருளிய அலையில், திருமஞ்சனமாடிய (நீராடிய) சிவபெருமான், பக்தர்களுக்கு அருள்புரிந்து, கனகசபைக்குள் புகுந்தார்.
வருணனின் பாசமறுத்த அந்த இடம், 'பாசமறுத்த துறை...' என்று பெயர் பெற்று விளங்குகிறது. சிதம்பரத்தில் இருந்து ஏறத்தாழ, 1.5 கி.மீ., தொலைவில், இத்துறை உள்ளது. இங்கு, மாசி மக தீர்த்தோற்சவம் மிகவும் விமரிசையாக கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.
மாசி மகக் கடல் நீராட்டம் செய்தால், நம் மனதில் ஆரோக்கிய நீரோட்டம், நிரம்பி வழியும்!
